FAQs

Why is BJTG offering this?

We believe it is God’s design for our healing to become fully integrated into our own lives and our community. The healing we experience through Jesus is deepened and strengthened as we engage the Body of Christ.

Who is this for?

This community is for anyone who longs to be known deeply, but is unsure where to begin or what the next step is; This is a space for anyone who has wondered if anyone else is in therapy and what their experience has been, but doesn’t know if they can ask. This experience is for all who are interested in learning how to form stronger relationships with others in your community.

Why is this even necessary?

There are many times where the courageous work of healing, or the struggles engaged in therapy or in other parts of our lives remains private, known only to ourselves.

This is understandable.

It can be risky to share our stories with other people. We do not always know who we can share our experiences with, or even how to share them. Many of us were not taught how to share our stories with one another in ways that are meaningful and transformation. Nor have we been taught how to receive and the stories of others in ways that are trustworthy.

Isn’t it risky to share our stories with others?

Absolutely it is. But we believe it is a risk that is worth taking as we follow Jesus together. That is why we are doing this intentionally, with protections, and in ways to allow us to come to know and trust one another through experience. You will be guided, supported, and shown how to walk more deeply with one another as you bring your stories from therapy into community. We will do this wisely, thoughtfully, and slowly. No one is expected to jump in and share more than they are ready for. We will grow into storytelling together.
